Dr. Leonel A. Vasquez is a diagnostic radiologist with subspecialty training in breast imaging, practicing in Roanoke, Virginia, with more than 21 years of experience. He earned his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, completed a transitional year internship at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals (1989–1990), a diagnostic radiology residency at Allegheny Health Network Medical Education Consortium (AGH) (1990–1994), and a women’s imaging fellowship at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University (1999–2000). For patients with abnormal findings, he performs diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI to characterize lesions. When a biopsy is needed, he performs minimally invasive, image‑guided procedures (stereotactic, ultrasound‑guided, or MRI‑guided) to obtain tissue samples without surgery. Dr. Vasquez also provides pre‑operative localization to guide surgeons to small or non‑palpable abnormalities. He works closely with referring physicians, breast surgeons, and oncologists to ensure coordinated, patient‑centered care. Telehealth is generally not applicable for radiology services; patients should contact the imaging center directly.
